Let's take the place of our most heinous acts of cruelty against our own people and make it a rehab facility so people don't think about what we allowed to happen here for 100 or so years.

Maybe rehabilitate neighborhoods then before they end up in jail. The people who don't commit crimes have to sit and be the victims of crimes in these areas only to watch their prison conditions get better while they still live surrounded by filth of a vicious cycle.

This is amazing!! I mean even treating inmates as human would be amazing, most prisons don't manage even that.

The land where that prison is more than 400 acres of prime San Francisco Bayfront property. The bare land it likely worth well over a Billion dollars, even in today's down real estate market. I bet they could get someone to build an entirely new facility and still make a Billion on the sale :)

How about releasing all the people in jail for drug possession and abolishing the 3 strike laws? 😒
