Forever my favourite Python. Very glad I saw them in 2014 (and the Cleese and Idle tour later) before the downhill slide into disappointment for some of them.

I love idle but Palin will always be mine. The castle swamp scene is enough. Plus in real life he’s a really cool and nice dude it seems.

Eh, just various stages of turning into the things they once made fun of. It's hinted at in this article. Cleese and Gilliam really.

Cleese has an awesome legacy, but these days he comes across as a very old, very tired cranky grandpa, and not really that funny. Which is fair! He's 82! But he's still active in the public eye. And since his movies are so timeless, it's hard not to hold him up next to his Holy Grail performance from half a century ago and notice the differences.
