People given a $100 fine may have to pay $500 when most people don't just have $1000 laying around. That escalated quickly.
What do they even mean by these additional charges which could total 5 times the cost of the fine? I've had speeding and parking tickets. I pay the amount I'm fined and that's it.

Fine is $200. Court costs (even if you don't go to court for it) are $60. Victims compensation fund $50. Electronic device usage (the radar detector) $50. Etc... There are over 5 fees on every ticket. No matter what the ticket is for you pay these fees. So a $2 ticket can be a $100 ticket by the time they get done with adding it up.

In texas every ticket makes you play into the road repair fund and veterans fund. Which im kind of ok with.
