Because it's coming from the UK. So we stole it and consequently invented it.

We've also invented roads, toilets, sandwiches, teddy bears, engines, everything we, stole, invented it.

No its more about using battery storage. Yes it could also be diesel electric but the point it that it uses excess energy to fill its battery storage
