It was a blessing in disguise, as the man himself said. All the people who refused him HAD to in order for all the other people to be saved. It's like the movie "It's A Wonderful Life." If he didn't exist, he wouldn't have been around to save them. If just 1 of the houses he went to let him in (I would have), it's possible several of the people he saved wouldn't have made it. Just a little analogy. Glad it ended well for all.

Yeah I don't think their finding a school or making it that far was inevitable. They could well have all died and for what, so someone's tv didn't get stolen? Let that be a lesson to us.

I can imagine they must have felt more and more sickened as the news of more deaths kept coming throughout the blizzard. I cannot imagine.
