Isn't it Yellowstone with all the fools gored by buffaloes or falling in hot springs?

more people might die at yellowstone (idk), but they have such a huge number of visitors the actual percentage of deaths is tiny. North cascades is one of the least visited parks.

In absolute numbers more people die at Yellowstone. North Cascades has a higher number of deaths per 1000 visitors, however.
This is in large part because North Cascades is a lovely park best known among serious alpine climbers. So many of the people that come to North Cascades are there to do something risky. Most people that come to Yellowstone are there for light hiking, camping and tours, low risk activities.

Number would be much higher if you include All deaths within the park boundary. 2+ vehicle/motorcycle fatalities every year for a highway that's closed half the year. Murders happen up there. And a surprising amount of suicides in the north cascades park. I can think of at least 12 deaths in the area in the past 9 years I've been working up there.

I work inside the park. I'm in Newhalem and Diablo 5 days a week and I drive highway 20 inside of the north cascades national park. You are thinking of the wrong area. I'm at my office inside the park right now.

Ross Lake National Recreation Area is part of the North Cascades National Park complex. This is super pedantic.

Calling it “the most dangerous park in the country” broadly and then spending the entire article talking about niche rock climbing issues when the vast majority of visitors are not rock climbers is very click baity. Even if technically true based on statistics.
