Not all EU licenses are treated the same. Every country needs to sign an agreement with each state. I know that Germany has an agreement with WA, otherwise you have to follow the directions for getting a brand new license.
Otherwise there is a list of “Proof of Washington State residence” (first result on Google). You could get a bank and phone bill in your name billed to your relatives’ address to satisfy these requirements.
But on another more practical note, if you aren’t planning on staying long your EU license should be fine. I don’t know the requirements for translation but it’s generally accepted in WA for visitors.

Yeah I read about that. I would have to apply for a brand new license from square one. I have everything besides the residence.
I'll just have to get some stuff w my name on it mailed then.
I need a US license bcs car insurance.

Renters insurance is cheap and that might work to get a bill in your name. You can always cancel it.

+1 to Renters insurance. It's a good idea anyway.

Makes sense. Good luck! I did it the other way around but I was registered with the city at my address to proved residency.
