I've used all the apps. Reddit was the final app I tried after giving up the rest of the socials. I never tried it because I had always heard it was a toxic pit of despair. Honestly I love Reddit and find it to be the least toxic. Maybe I'm hanging out in the wrong subs

You can make Reddit whatever you want. For me it's mostly about cats. With a good dash of popcorn and snark.

Niche and/or passionate Reddit communities are great. Front page subreddits are godawful in just about every way. It’s an interesting dichotomy’s.

I like Reddit because it’s content-based, not oriented around personal feeds. To me that makes all the difference.

I’ve been using Reddit for a long time and, while I’ve had to change what subs I engage with over time, on the whole I like Reddit the most. I also feel it’s the least toxic, personally.
At this point the only others I use are TikTok (look, it’s problematic but the algorithm is a beast), and Instagram as a way to maintain an online photo album with friends/family.
