Wonder how it photographs in the winter. Does it freeze over?
wpnw t1_ixb8h6k wrote
Too much water to freeze over, but it does grow a pretty gnarly wall of icicles behind and around it when it gets cold enough.

Also “have fun parking on a busy day” because that isn’t labeled either.

Hit it when there is flooding. Truly magnificent!

Fyi- there's no camping at lyons ferry state park, or at Palouse falls. There's a KOA just across the Snake from the state park though!

There is camping at Palouse Falls. Are you kidding?
riannaearl t1_ixczz7b wrote
The campground itself is there, but it is closed. They've had a sign at the entrance since at least the beginning of last summer. Hopefully the state opens it back up, but last I heard it was closed indefinitely. The park is open, but not the campground.
Edit: words

Don't they turn the falls off sometimes? By which I mean send (nearly) all the water through the power plant.
We stayed at the lodge 15-20 years ago and I remember either hearing or observing that at night there wasn't much water going over the falls.
