I survived -40°F in Michigan… it was cold, but, you know, layer up, eat food, keep moving. First time in 100 years that Mich State Univ cancelled classes. We all went out in the snow and played. It was a good time.
It get’s to -80°F in Alaska sometimes. People survive ok.

If their house is built for it sure. How about outside chickens that aren’t used to anything below 20f?

Oh yeah, I’d build a heater for them.. for sure. Like a ‘tea light heater’ or ‘greenhouse heater’.. seen those? Super useful.

I brought mine inside. Laid a tarp down and made a little area. -12f here currently. No cold chooks.
