Don’t laugh. JC Penney, or Kohls if you don’t want to break the bank and look decent.

Saks Off 5th has some good ones right now with Zegna fabric marked down to $299. Not sure what your budget is, but make sure you account for another $150 or so to get it tailored. You can spend $5k on a suit and you’ll still look like shit if it’s not tailored properly. The “major” department store suits from the labels you know like Perry Ellis, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors, etc typically provide very little in terms of extra material to keep costs down so tailoring then can be a challenge.

Consider a second hand suit, but know what to shop for as far as what can and can not be fixed with tailoring. With that in mind, any suit you buy, GET IT TAILORED, and make sure to get 100% wool, other materials should only be at a last resort.

Cheapest is just a rack suit at Kohl's or some department store like that. You'll need to get it altered after though so save money for that. Hit or miss on the help at those locations so make sure you can fit yourself decently.

Got my first suit at Rocco's and they were amazing. Asked about my budget and anything I knew I wanted, gave suggestions without pushing me into spending more. Do alterations as part of the purchase. Might spend a little more but without experience I think it was all worth it long term.

There's a new place downtown on the corner of Commercial and Front Street that does custom suits. It looks pretty cool.

Rocco’s is amazing. If you call ahead and give them your budget, they will tell you honestly if they can accommodate you.

If that doesn’t work, Nordstrom Rack, Kohls and JC Penney all have suits that you will work- and there’s a ton of post Christmas sales right now, so good timing!

I bought a nice wool suit at Savers for $16 last year. I only wear a suit about twice a year, so second hand is fine with me.

Pricing is odd over there though, a used, wrinkled, dress shirt to go with it was priced at $30.... So buy that new.

Check Marshall's, TJ Maxx, and Burlington for suits. If nothing, try Mens Wearhouse

No. I think Armando’s on Grafton St might rent, but I’m really not sure. I would stay away from mens wearhouse though I’ve had nothing but bad experiences with them renting suits. Think I’ve been in 4 weddings with rented suits from them and they all fit terrible.

There’s a Mens Wearhouse at Solomon Pond Mall. You can get a decent suit there at a reasonable price. Or you can hit a thrift store, I bet you’ll get lucky.

I would definitely recommend checking out Macy’s. I bought a suit there (it was on sale) for a wedding recently (in November).

Raheb Custom Tailoring right near Roccos is also good. He’s less expensive than Rocco (who, if you can afford, is well worth it) and still has nice stuff.

Not in worcester, but Jos. A bank is great. Find a tailor and it’ll look great

Not Worcester, but Indochino in Natick Mall has been great for me. They will fit a suit to you and you can customize it to your liking. I paid under $400

I know someone already said it, but I second Kohls, especially if you already know your sizes. I have purchased suits from a variety of places and honestly as far as bang for your buck kohls is great. I recently got two jackets and three pairs of pants there for about $400 or so. Certainly not cheap, but the quality is good and the prices are reasonable. I went to the one at Blackstone personally, but I am guessing the one off Lincoln Street would be similar.

Macy's always has stuff on sale. I'd also check Banana Republic Factory.

If you're not in the wedding party and not expected to be in serious photos I'd see if you can get away with a sports coat and dress pants. Suits kind of suck if you're not going to wear it often because body shapes change so if you wear it infrequently it can become a one time $500-1000+ purchase for a thing that won't fit you the next time you need to put it on two years later.

I know it's far but Milton's in Brookline is amazing and so affordable. The staff will find the perfect thing for you and you can walk out feeling like a million bucks.
