Looking for something new, Compass is overrated imo. I mostly drink lattes.

Second on Rare Bird. They do an incredible job with their roasts, and they kind of ruined me on other local roasters. That said, they're pretty pricey - not totally insane, but not cheap either - so I don't buy their beans often anymore.
I enjoy Philz in Ballston
Peet’s is not bad. Northside Social is also a nice place to hang out with good coffee.
They don’t do espresso, which is what OP is looking for
I also love rare bird in falls church.
East West Coffee is good. Tatte's is good but hard to get seating because it is always crowded.
Rako's Coffee Roasters is okay but tiny.
Origin Coffee Lab and Kitchen, in Pentagon Row. Solid iced latte. Well, it’s still in a liquid state, but you know what I mean.

Sweet Science is in my opinion the best coffee in Arlington. Their default coffee is the birdie blend from Rare Bird in Falls Church which is legitimately my favorite blend I've ever had. Free Wi-Fi, no time limit, friendly staff.
