They have serious issues with plumbing, AC, and heat. The AC and heat is centrally controlled so it goes out for the entire building when it goes out. There's also a bowling alley next door that is open late and has a bar that apparently has led to a number of fights and shootings spilling out in front of the building. This is what I've gathered from Nextdoor posts about this building. It's priced low for a reason.

I have been living in Avalon Apartments for 4 years. IMO, they are great.

There is also a referral program, so if you decided to move into one, we both get a little cash for it.

The bowling alley next to it attracts a lot of crime for some reason

I used to FWB some chick that lived there. Easy in and out for a little in-out. Place was dirty and smelled rough sometimes. Just like her.

didn’t it (portion of the building anyway) catch on fire awhile ago?

Had a friend who lived there for a year. I was over a bunch of times, the space was decent and seemed clean and modern.

Eh it’s average. Lived there for two years, management is horrible and will try to suck every penny out of you. if you live there, make sure you get a renovated apartment. Lots of crime, i’ve watched someone get robbed at gun point, people being jumped etc from my balcony. Last year there was a huge fire on my floor and they didn’t finish cleaning it up for a whole year. The general manager is the worst and doesn’t know how to answer an email! They often shut off the water at a moments notice. 3 separate times, our apartment flooded due to maintenance forgetting to turn off the water before fixing the ac unit in the apartment above us.
