It's a very light color morph of a Ring-Neck Snake, 14 sub-species, all with varying color spectrums. Characterized by the ring around it's neck, and usually a highly contrasting color on their belly scales. Mildly venomous, but no threat to humans, as that is about as big as they get. They eat worms and things.

That's the smallest snake I have ever seen! What kind of snake is it?

Ah, okay. I never see any snakes around here, so while I do like them, I'm not too versed on what type/kind of snakes exist.

I'm in canada, new Brunswick and to my knowledge it looks like a green snake or a garter snake but still very tiny!

I was wondering why you picked it up. In Australia, picking up a snake that looks similar to that has a good chance of you in hospital or worse.

Ring neck, they almost look like a worm. Did you notice that it made your hand stink?
