I posted Apollo by himself the other day (the puppy), but his Mom Aurora is really coming around to living with us as well.

Aurora is a Great Pyrenees/Lab mix and we aren’t sure what the dad of Apollo was, but we can’t wait to find out.

My dog is also a Pyrenees/Lab and I love love love the mix of personality. Biggest advice I have for you on relationship building is never use negative reinforcement because they view you as a peer and not as their boss. So earn her respect, make her comfortable, find out what positively motivates her, and keep so training reward based. Also for Pyrenees in general, when they want to be touched they will let you know, otherwise they are not big fans of being touched. It is why they seem aloof to some people. Which is incorrect, they are cuddle monsters, they just want to choose when to cuddle. They expect people to respect their boundaries until then. Probably because they are working dogs meant to protect a herd and property.

Also they are so cute! Congrats

Sounds like a cat personality in a dog.

I would truly fear a cat that size.

My orange tabby would be amazing that size.. only a threat to himself

I understand why you'd say that but also dogs are dangerous that size. It's just about learning their "social code." Dogs are more obvious, cats have their rules but are less obvious.

Own a rescue from Bulgaria, probably with some mountain dog genes, and that is exactly how they think

They all have their personalities. I have two GPs and a small GP that’s potentially a lab mix (but they have all GP defining characteristics except size). One GP loves to wrestle, one likes their personal space more like you describe, and the small GP is just like a lab. Hence the lab mix suspicion. Love all of them. Great dogs.

Yep with my Pyr I couldn't pry her away from me with a crowbar... But at some point she's like nah I'm good and disappears for a while on the other side of the house lol

I will keep that in mind! We are definitely in the setting boundaries phase
