As you might be able to tell from my username, I just moved to the area, and I am interested in meeting people. I am wondering if there are any singles bars or clubs that cater to the over 30 crowd? On a kind of related question, are there any sites that list bands and live shows that are playing in the city? Thanks in advance for any info and help you provide.

Welcome :) The 8x10 is my favorite venue in the city. It is a bit small but they have a good variety of shows in my opinion and the crowd is friendly. I also really like Mum's nearby. They have a pool table and have an older crowd of patrons, so may be more tame than what you're looking for. Cat's eye pub in fells is super fun but will likely have a cover. They have music every night.

For 30+ I'd recommend WC Harlan, Clavel, Ottobar, and any given bar along 36th st in Hampden

In all seriousness, that’s like the 30ish year old bachelorette party destination of choice. Explore around, see what you vibe with, and go. You’ll definitely meet people. Worst case scenario you have infinite opportunities to photo bomb bachelorette parties.
