There’s going to be surge pricing on NYE, late night Ubers can be expensive. I’ve paid $45 for a ride that is usually $15-20

Thank you! That's very helpful.

It's been years since I went out on NYE but I used to just stay out til 3/4 until I called for a ride. I never paid a surge price after waiting. Most bars stay open so it's not like we sat on the curb for 2hours, we just stayed in the bar

Much much less than a dui or accident will cost if you really need to put it in perspective. Im sure the amount of uber drivers out surge for something so close by wont be but a couple beers.

Honestly, I find it kind of offensive that you assume I was weighing whether I would drink and drive with the price of an Uber. I was just trying to figure out kind of prices to expect because I haven't gone out on New Year's in years and I have to budget. This is an incredibly condescending response.

There’s a promo for Lyft rides in Maryland throughout the holiday season to help offset the cost. Spending a few bucks is worth the safety and peace of mind. And you can focus on having a good time. It’s gonna be warm, so things could get extra
