IMO, yes. Especially depending on what garage you park in. BUT I worked nightshift. I drove to UMMC for many years and Os games were the worst between the traffic and being assigned to park in a garage that was also frequently used by game attendees, but I was traveling to work at the same time people were going to the game. I kept the Os home schedule in my calendar so I could either not work those days or leave early. I think if youre working a traditional day time schedule you would have much less of a headache.

I’ll get downvoted to hell for this but - Baltimore. It can be peaceful if you want it to be - there is so much more than the inner harbor. There are many museums including the Walter’s Art, American Visionary Arts, Baltimore Museum of Industry, and the Reginald F Lewis Museum. We have great green spaces, including Fort McHenry, home of the Star Spangled Banner, and Patterson Park with the Observatory that was built in 1890. They’re both great spots to have an afternoon picnic. Druid Hill Park had been compared to Central Park and is home to the Rawlings Conservatory and the Maryland Zoo, which hosts Brew at the Zoo in May. Flower Mart is in Mount Vernon (home of the original Washington Monument) in May, which is the city’s oldest festival dating back to 1911. Fells Point and Hampden both have excellent restaurants and shops. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. I’m Jersey born & raised but live in Baltimore now and would be happy to answer any questions.

Sizka is my favorite sushi in the city, they do both lunch and dinner omakase. BYOB.

V-NO Wine Bar in Fells has wines by the glass or bottle, and small plates. They have tables outside that a nice to sit at. They also have tasting events that sometimes occur on a cruise around the harbor that might be worth checking out.

This. There will absolutely be people out partying next Friday on St Paddys. IF you want to go out this weekend there are crawls in Fed & Fells (Canton was last weekend). Eventbrite is going to sell you crawl/stroll "tickets". Dont buy them. You can go and get into every bar without that stupid bracelet, youll just have to pay $5 for your Bud Light instead of $3 but thats if anyone bothers to check or care because everywhere is going to have specials anyway.

Bottom line: put on all your green and go out both weekends if you want, dont give any third party promoters any money - save it for shots.

Take the Purple route (free, Charm City Circulator) to the Light St stop (Inner Harbor). Take a walk to see the cool, old, ships. Ride the water taxi across to Locust Point - kids love the water taxi. Walk to LP Steamers (half a mile) for crabs, coddies, and steamed shrimp. Jump on the Banner route (again, free) and take that back downtown (Pratt St stop - you can get off at Otterbein but I’d recommend a visitor just go back to Pratt. Either way, just follow the crowd and you’ll be ok).

I agree with everything here but also want to emphasize talking to other residents on the block, and observing the block at different times of the day (if you can). Our block is great and we have a nicely knit community- except for the house directly next to mine. Had I spent time checking out the neighborhood I might have seen the residents nodding out on their porch, dumping huge amounts of trash out of their cars into the street, having stoop parties and doing drugs openly. These neighbors had a busted pipe in their home that flooded my basement for a week until the city finally intervened. I get roaches, from these neighbors. They are the bane of my existence.

Also, make sure to check around the transome. Ours wasn’t sealed correctly and now the entire door frame needs to be replaced because of water damage.

Good luck!!

Dylan’s. I’ve been. I’ve had good meals, and great oysters. The bar service far outweighs the table service, which is where the problem starts. If I go to a place named and known for its oyster service, I expect the same knowledge and service at a table that I get at the bar. Not the case there. It’s just too much $$ for what it is. At the end of your visit you’re not paying less than you would at somewhere like TSOH and the service and knowledge you get there is far, FAR superior to that of Dylans.

Not sure how much DIY you are looking to do, but I made my bouquet out of flowers from Trader Joes. Cost me less than $10 and was beautiful. You could buy some fresh from there and dry them at home. It would save a lot of money, as long as you have a few weeks to allow for drying.

This is exactly why our park walks have become quite limited. Our boys are very social and we've never had a problem, however they are quite big and dont like surprises. We have had a couple of close encounters with (illegally) off leash dogs and it's just not worth the risk. Latrobe, Riverside, Patterson....they are all full of people who's dogs have "excellent recall"

I think I’m gonna try to make my own. This recipe was posted in r/NewOrleans and appears to have the stamp of approval. OP said they followed the recipe exactly. How hard could it be? (She said before destroying her kitchen)
