Hey there! I’m relocating to Baltimore from Austin in about a month and I was wondering if there were any chill/casual places or groups to play Magic the Gathering. I’m not the best player, I’ve only got pre con commander decks, but I was hoping to meet some other people who like to have a good time and not take the game too seriously. Any suggestions would be welcome, thanks!

If you wanna shoot me a message, there are TONS of places to play based on where you are. My friend and I sometimes meet at Towson dinner to get food and beat each other up lol

There are a ton of stores around the beltway as well. We're one of the most avid cities in the world for the Legacy format for example. I only play competitively so I don't know much about casual nights, but I've seen commander players every Wednesday at Levelup in Glen Burnie, and I assume most stores have at least one commander night, in case your closest store doesn't fit your schedule.

No Land Beyond is worth mentioning again.

Games and Stuff south of the city is just awesome and huge.

Walt's in Dundalk seems to have games going at least on weekends.

Level-Up Games. New place in Dundalk only open Saturday afternoons until they open. Looks to be very cool.

No Land Beyond does commander on Wednesdays!!! It's hella fun.

There's a pretty sizable local magic discord, but it seems like they only like playing limited and cube. That's very much not my thing, but it might be yours!

There is also The Gane Haven in Pikesville, a few miles outside of Baltimore if you are situated in NW Baltimore. It's a fun location, decent community, and magic events many days. It's also a partner store

Level Up Games is also in Glen Burnie. Right next to the high school and down the street from Games & Stuff. There's a great Mexican restaurant next to it too

Also, Games and Stuff is right across the street from the Cromwell Light Rail station, so public transit is definitely accessible, Idk the schedule though
