They had a bunch of tables full of books set-up: maybe a dozen or so. They were piled taller than me with the assistance of the tables. Many attendants were rushing back and forth from the warehouse with wagons to replace books that were being taken. There was a limit of 5 free books for each person with the limit of 20 per family. The books were largely Middle-grade and YA Hardbacks with the exception of one table of early reader books.
There was also music, face-painting, four-square tournaments, selfie-sets, and the aforementioned free food. There was also a table holding sign-up’s for “Real Men Read” which I sign up for every year; I go to the local school once a month to read to the kids.
If you have kids, look into it. They’ve been holding these events nation-wide!
