Check out Fincher's movie adaptation if you haven't. I thought it was really good in relation to the book. As for something similar, I'd recommend Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson, In the Woods by Tana French, and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which has also been turned into a film. You can look through Gillian Flynn's other books as well, since there are some pretty good reads like Dark Places.

Try Carrion Comfort, by Dan Simmons, and The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings, by Tolkien... be interested to see what you think!

I LOVED Gone Girl. I also think it's one of the best books I've ever read, and I've read quite a few books. Sharp Objects (also by Gillian Flynn) is also excellent, but just be warned it's much more dark and disturbing than Gone Girl.

No. I've read enough to know that there will be future gems. I've come across many in my life. We all have different tastes though. To me, Gone Girl was just OK and had some plot holes. But many many loved it!! That's reading!! :-)

When I feel this way, I pick up something very different, so there is no comparison bias.
