Ok I read it as in, “I’ve read all of Bolaño’s work and I’m finishing up with 2666” and your read makes so much more sense because mine seems real bizarre.

OP typed my instead of by. If you change that it reads fine (although the fact it was Bolaño's final book seems a bit irrelevant).
