My favorite part of living in JP is I get to go there several times a week. So lucky to have it right down the road! Blows my mind really.

It's a great spot but "one of the loveliest places on the planet" is stretching it a bit lol

I dunno. I may not be as well-versed as you, but I have lived in major cities on four different continents, and I’m hard-pressed to think of one of them that wouldn’t love to have a place like the Arboretum. The biodiversity on display really is unmatched. I’m sure it’s lost on some such as yourself.

Well to be honest, it got the reputation for being a mecca for sexual assualts and it kinda stuck with many of the locals.

Art nouveau design for the gates, very delicate. It seems like they went with something heavier, stodgier.
I agree it's a very beautiful place-- a really successful collaboration over many decades between Boston Park department and Harvard.

Very interesting. Any idea where this gate was supposed to be? If it's the one at the Hunnewell House, it certainly doesn't look anything like that--perhaps it was replaced?

I don’t recall any information being included, but I’ll post the source and poke around when I’m near my desktop.

Honestly, one of the loveliest places on the planet. I’m continually surprised by the number of people who have not been there.
