Interesting that you called it the “South Boston Waterfront.” Some groups tried really hard to get that name to stick. People seemed to be calling it “The Waterfront” for a while. But now it just goes by “Seaport”.

The waterfront is a different area than the seaport. It’s basically the area between the greenway and the harbor between South Station and the North End. I mean it’s still basically realtor-speak, but it’s not an old nickname for the seaport.

South Boston Waterfront is definitely the same as Seaport. I know the Waterfront area you’re talking about, but it’s not a city district. And there was definitely a time where the city was pushing that SBW name where Seaport was just referred to as Waterfront.
