Aquitaine, mistral or black lamb in the south end. It’s a nice side of Boston to show somebody from out of town, old brownstones and small shops.

Not sure what vibe you’re going for but I just went to Angela’s Cafe in eastie and it’s my new favorite brunch spot. They have tons of American and Mexican options and the prices are incredible. If you want something “vibe-ier”, this definitely isn’t it.

In that case, I like Friendly Toast but the line is always absolutely absurd. Same with Lincoln in Southie - both are worth it though and at Friendly Toast I think you can join the line via Yelp (at least you could in the past). Definitely do that if you decide to go there- I’ve seen the wait at 2+ hours before. Hope this helps!

If you are south of the city, I recommend Steel & Rye in Milton.

You can’t go wrong at Cafe Bonjour on Temple. Yes, there’s a line, yes, it’s worth it. Put your name in, grab a coffee around the corner, and enjoy.
