That headline doesn't match the article. It said Boston was 30th of 170 cities for people living alone (38%). That women living alone ranks 11th (23% of women in Boston live alone). Only 15% of men live alone.

Yeah, it's what they had on their website and I can't change it unfortunately, but it does grab more attention that way I guess

Yeah but the actual content entirely invalidates the thesis in the headline.

As my uncle says: just because I live alone doesn't mean I'm lonely.

I did the roommates thing in my early to mid 20s. As soon as I found a good paying job and could afford to live on my own, I moved into my own place and wouldn’t have it any other way. I like spending time with certain people and having company sometimes but I absolutely love the peace and quiet that comes with living alone. Love being independent and self sufficient. My apartment is my sanctuary.

Get a dog or cat. Technically, you’re not drinking “alone.”

Alexa, do you love me?
I’m sorry, I don’t have emotions and am therefore incapable of love.
You and me both, sister.

Just because you live alone, doesn’t mean you are lonely and just because you live with someone doesn’t mean you aren’t lonely.

I feel it in the city. People keep to themselves. People just go about their day. Not much socialization or anything. It's 'Go to work, come home' or 'Go to school, come home' it typically feels.
Even I am guilty of going into Boston and just putting headphones on and just walking around without interaction.
Some chat. I would wear my headphones less if I was less concerned about random people walking up to me to panhandle or something. The headphones wards them..... most of the time. Not all.

Big cities all suck for meeting people. I’ve lived in Boston, grew up in New York and also lived in San Francisco and Seattle.

Is NYC not a million times better for socializing than Boston though? Seattle I understand bc of the Seattle freeze
