Happened to my wife. Show up to the Boston office when they open and you can get a same day renewal. Took like 6 hrs, but we caught the evening flight out of Logan the same day.

When was this? Did you have an appointment? Everything I’m reading online says they are total hard assess about the appointments and will not let you in without one
