For those unaware, Gashadokuro are a yokai in Japanese folklore. They are said to be born on battlefields where many people and animals lost their lives. None of them ever received any death rites or memorials, so the intense anger builds up and their skulls and bones come together to form one giant skeletal creature.

The Gashadokuro will then hunt humans and eat them, usually at night, continuing this behaviour until all the residual anger has dissipated, and it crumbles and disappears

Shaman King by any chance? The main character fights a guy who summons a giant Skeleton at some point, a scene of it is even featured during the opening of the show.

Faust I believe the character's name was.

The skeleton's pose ( in this picture ) made me think of Greymon during the short story in Digimon The Movie though.
