I also dislike it. The book being one of my absolute favorites generally helps disliking the movie.

Not the person you're asking but they bought the rights to adapt a novel, then litterally massacred what made the novel unbelievably good, its ending.

It's a fucking shame cause the revised ending sucks. Why would they do that ?

Add another to the dislike pile. It was certainly nothing special, and the the way they ended it was just total shit.
