And testimony to our meritocratic system is that only 20 of the 57 went to Eton school, and a mere 44 went to Oxford or Cambridge! God I love our democracy...

it shouldn't be surprising that the people who end up in the most powerful positions in society by and large had the best educational opportunities historically (Eton + Oxbridge) or more recently are self selected from people who were high academic achievers (Oxbridge grads).
