I’m sorry to bring it up but being January and that time to rethink our lives I will say it.

This has to be the laziest question I’ve ever seen in Reddit.

First, because you could have typed the same question in Google and not ask anyone to type it for you, but switching apps would be too much work, who cares

Second, because Google would give you an answer in 0.39 seconds and Reddit took 2 hours to reply. But who is on a rush, right

Just an observation

Bro this is a public forum/board, other people will read this, and have an even quicker answer right here. When u say something on reddit u gotta think that someone else will also read what you post. Sure everyone could google themselves but whats the point of posting something that requires previous knowledge and context. His question adds to the overall post.

Yeah, I Google things all the time and add ‘Reddit’ to the end of my search so it brings up all these threads full of juice.

I am sure that conversation and discussion brings value but if the user wanted to contribute he could have taken 1 sec and Google what is HDI and paste here saying “if someone else doesn’t know it, here’s what is HDI”

This is the type of info that doesn’t require a community to answer

True that it would have been a better option, but it still added more than googling it himself

Wouldn’t it have also added information had he googled it himself, pasted the definition and someone else refuted/added info if necessary?

Yes, I don’t know if I read too in a hurry or you edited but I was thinking as in “google then not comment”

It took you like 5 minutes to write that. How about you take a fresh breath of air 😄? No? Too much?

I took more than that, I have edited the message to the best of my abilities to be understood, since English is not my native language. But the estimation of value is not one of productivity and precision here, such as the Google X Reddit Q&A, but at the compound effect in the world my message can bring about.

See, the message is not addressed only to the author of the message to which I have replied. The message may have a bigger, personal impact on him/her/they, but every reader who stumble upon the message — such as yourself — may derive conclusions.

Some of these conclusions may be towards my goal, which is to raise awareness to the economy of the pursuit of knowledge on the internet. I hope to have brought awareness of the gain in being continuously more proactive towards seeking answers for the questions life throws upon us.

Your reaction, adamantly against what I have arrogantly proposed, brings another perspective, one directed to the nature of the social pursuit of knowledge.

I myself find it less fruitful, but others may not — what a sublime jolt of pleasure to acknowledge that someone has taken their time to answer my question. What else can become of that? Perhaps a friendship, perhaps a world of opportunities?

It should be on the fucking map. If you're gonna call your data beautiful you should have some standards. Like explaining what you're talking about. That's why I've typed it in the past. Rhetorically.
