They look great! Not sure what your recipe is, but try adding a little less mayo and sub in either horseradish sauce or bleu cheese dressing...it's kind of fun!

They aren't as yellow as many built around mustard as a flavoring, and paprika isn't the only thing on top of them.

I used to cook for a living. There's a decent variety of spices that will produce similar coloring without getting into the vagaries of food does, differences in mayo, difference in coloring of food over just a couple hours.
And you Do Not KNOW what's in them because you didn't make them. The OP hasn't said what's in them. You are guessing.

So my friend makes some killer devil eggs. The funny thing is that in 1 devil egg she puts a spicy pepper between the yolk and white. She puts a sign up saying on is truly a devil. People take their chances.
