People who get fries to go or delivered, are they ever crispy?

OP t1_jdvdtg8 wrote

They were for me. This place is about an 1-hour drive for me so we ate it in a park nearby.

What on earth are greek fries?

t1_jdv7bwx wrote

Fries topped with feta and some kind of sauce. There's a place near me that serves them topped with feta, oregano, and lemon marinade.

Thank you. I am greek, we don't make that. I guess it's another "traditional Greek hummus" type of food.

I don't think "Greek fries" are meant to be authentic Greek food. They are "fries with Greek flavor" not "fries like the Greeks make".

Poutine too sweet for me

t1_jdulyej wrote

Huh? There's no sweet ingredient in poutine.

t1_jdv50o7 wrote

Thé best poutine requires just a hint of sweetness in its sauce. If you throw in half a cup of brown sugar though, you’re doing it wrong! :-P

Édit: here’s an example from Fromagerie Bergeron: https://fromagesbergeron.com/en/recipes/le-guide-des-sauces-a-poutine-bergeron/

I think your phobia is more niche than you think it is.

I knew a girl who forfeited a big bag of chips in middle school when someone threw a goldfish cracker into it. She said she couldn’t eat it since another food item touched the chips.

It’s not normal, but you do you and don’t bother others about how they prefer their food:)
