I'm surprised this youngin even knows who Hall and Oates are
fiddlenutz t1_iujeosq wrote
This is a “my parents are going to make me funny with something not relevant to me” vibe. Cool costume, but on a kid that young it’s just a dumb idea.

Poor kid. She looks miserable too.
MOS95B t1_iujihdo wrote
She looks like she's making the same face they are in the picture.
Not assuming she likes the costume, but also not assuming she's "miserable"
BrotherChris23 t1_iujit61 wrote
Holland Oates.
tan-499 t1_iujj166 wrote
Well "miserable"is probably melodramatic but I mean her expression hints that she probably asked to be a princess or Ariel or a genie or something.
Then again her parents probably coached her to grimace like the picture. I still say poor kid. They grow up so damn fast as it is, let them enjoy it a little.
heelspider t1_iujjqbb wrote
The joke will be on her parents when she develops into a man-eater. She is so going to chew them up.
SickofItAll_4200 t1_iujjya2 wrote
The look on her face shows how much she hates it. Hopefully once her lame parents post her pic to facebook for likes, they let her change into a costume she picked.

It seems to be the theme this year. I keep seeing costumes on little kids that aren't old enough to even know what they are dressed up as. It's kind of sad - Let THEM choose what they want to wear! That's the fun of it.
WholeGemini t1_iujtv47 wrote
I was thinking to myself “I’m glad kids are picking out there own costumes nowadays” this is just sad

Well, if this article from 2016 is to be believed, the kid is (was) actually a fan:
DungeonGushers t1_iuk2psm wrote
I asked my kid what she wanted and she pointed to a blue princess. Failure. Then she points to another character from an annoying kids cartoon. Also failure. Now she’s a slice of pepperoni pizza and she hates pepperoni.
Edit: failure = she hated it

I was clear into my teenage years growing up in rural North Dakota when I finally figured out the name was not in fact Haulin' Oats, which made complete sense to me living in farm country because, that's just what people do.

Halloween is not a time for parents to force their shitty meme costumes onto their children.
Let them be kids, let them have a day and stop being a narcissistic ass of a parent.

I mean I have a friend who has a 6/7 year old kid who wanted to dress up as Rocky Balboa. That kid will watch rocky 24 fucking 7 if you let her. Some kids love their parents bands and films.
