We had a slow stretch and my company laid off 50% of employees. Fun

Nice work, but there's literally nothing funny about it. It's certainly cool, but that ain't the same thing.

If you get another slow stretch, can you make a picture of a level?

I hate to be that guy, but should J9 be red?

Or is Mario sporting the one strap overalls 1991-style?

If you ever need a new job, you should just hand this out with your contact info and nothing else instead of a resume. I’d hire you.

I'd do something like this at work, and my boss would print it out and hang it on the fridge. But, if I pulled together a spreadsheet that scrubs and annualizes last year's weather data for energy calculations instead of using the 50 year old standard data, I'm wasting company resources because no one asked for it.

IIRC (and it has been years since I touched a computer, let alone Excel!) click the little square between A and 1 to select every row & column and then adjust one row height and one column width and they’ll all adjust the same.

I was completely oblivious that this could be done and I use excel daily. My boss is going to hate you op looks like my efficiency is going to drop.

I can imagine that it would be relatively straight forward to write some simple code that converts an image file into a spreadsheet. A bit of header code to specify cell dimensions, then read each pixel in, convert it to an excel cell colour, and write into the spreadsheet file the cell reference and attributes. Then repeat for the next pixel until complete.

Possibly need to scale the image to something manageable so it don’t end up creating a spreadsheet with a million rows and columns.
