Or birds that prey on other predator and prey bird indiscriminately? There's picking fights with and eating finches and sparrows, then there's picking fights with eagles - then fighting the thing that eats eagles.

Owls prey on pretty much everything, including eagles. The cat would be lunch 99/100 encounters.
