in Israel there is a פ to indicate "here" and outside of Israel ש to indicate "there". So.... neither here, nor there ;)

So without you explaining what the joke is and nobody being able to undertsand it if you arent jewish i dont think its a good joke . You might get it and so will your family or friends but not the internet .

Just because you don't get a joke doesn't mean it isn't funny or shouldn't be posted.

There are lots of Jewish people in the world who will laugh at this. Jewish people are part of "the internet."

Im not saying there arent and i later stated that only jewish people might get it but most of the internet wont without any explanation due to a lot of people not knowing anything about the religion. Its like me an orthodox christian making a very specific joke that only orthodox christians can get while everyone else being confused.

Yeah I get what you're saying but there's lots of jokes that have an "in crowd" that are meant to understand it. I don't think it's fair the issue is with the joke, we're just maybe not the ideal audience for it

I mean I see Dragon Ball Z or Skyrim jokes quite often, which I do not understand... but apologies if this is too niche!

I mean Judiasm has a lot of meme potential!

But, again, sorry, I thought it was a well known enough concept

Funny how humor works for things people are interested in like religions or cultures or gaming or anything else for that matter.

I’m part of the internet, and I got it. I wasn’t aware that every joke posted on the internet must be immediately understandable to every single person on the internet. If that’s the case I suddenly have an issue with many, many jokes that I had previously just assumed were not aimed at me. I had never thought to be angry that they weren’t all aimed at me. So you didn’t get it, OP explained it, why not just learn something instead of bringing all this negativity?

Ignore the haters. I got it. And really, isn’t that all that matters?

jerrys153 t1_j21urre wrote

It certainly is! Even more so that I got it too. I even saw the nuun and so knew it was the shin/pay that was missing, all those years of Hebrew school finally paid off, my bubbie would be so proud! Lol
