There was an apartment across the street from me that always had a motorcycle stowed overnight way up on a high-floor balcony. This was a BIG, 800-lb cruiser bike - there was no space left for anything else on that balcony.

It was a very unexpected thing to see...and if you think about it for a minute, you realize that every night, the owner had to take the bike into and up the elevator, push it down the hallways, and wheel it into his unit and across the living room to the balcony...

I wonder if it was everynight? Or did the owner have a car downstairs in his parking spot, and on weekends would take out the bike?

This seems like a more likly scenerio, but I have seen weird things like this to.

It was every weekday night - the bike would be gone by 9 or 10 AM.

I'd be more concerned about the balcony. Standard ten person elevator is rated for about 1600lbs IIRC.

A balcony is usually..not

Probably OK if it's a cargo elevator.

I wonder was that some kind of malicious compliance. Insurance wouldn't cover it without a secure lock up, building management refused to provide some, so he decided to make his own.
