They bring in someone shitty to boost beer and snack sales. I clearly don't want to watch so great time to run to the gas station and stock up.

It's probably more for the hype train/ad space that is the SB, they're trying to provide entertainment for both those who are and those who aren't into football. Lots of nonfans go to the parties to be social.
