I fax documents 4-5 times a day in my job. I get faxes....and it drives me nuts.

Healthcare is the last real holdout for fax machines.

I saw a Dr last year who only communicated by phone and fax. He would get quite a few faxes every time I was in his office.

A lot of it is legal restrictions. The laws that were written to control how they are allowed to share information were written at a time when fax was normal. They didn't include rules for more "recent" communication methods.

The ass-backwards U.S. healthcare “system” would grind to a halt without fax. It’s the only way all the various greedy players truly interoperate.
