I've used OnePlus One, 6, 7 Pro, 8 Pro, 9 Pro. I'm afraid it's over. Just went over to the Pixel 7 Pro. Way better bang for the buck for the hardware on Black Friday. OnePlus is not what it used to be. It's just not a flagship killer on a budget anymore.

You either die a hero or live long enough to become the villan. OnePlus kept on living.

They went downhill fast after Carl Pei left. He now runs the manufacturer Nothing. They released the Phone (1) this year.

That phone is nothing (pun intended) like the OnePlus One was when it was first released. Or even the OnePlus 6.

I'm still on 6, but assuming I'm not able to find a replacement battery in my country I might have to think about replacing it soon. Can you tell me what's so bad in the latest models that made the brand go downhill?

OnePlus was originally about giving customers budget friendly high performance phones by being more strategic about part selection. Now they are just another premium brand that uses the highest quality parts for everything.
