I see things like this and it looks so complicated to me. I don't get how people have each screen showing different stuff.

What do you mean, each screen showing different stuff? You just plug them both in seperate slots, and it works. Its rare that you need to do more than that. They arnt displaying different stuff, really, they are more like a double length screen split in half, with half on each moniter. Full screen works normally (as in, just one moniter) as well.

Sorry? You think having dual monitors is confusing?

Seems like something that would be complicated to set up. I've never attempted to, though.

You plug the two monitors into your graphics card. Done.

I feel like if I did that, both screens would show the same thing and I wouldn't know how to set it up to show what I want on each.

when you right click and choose display settings, you can choose what you want them to do... duplicate screen, extend screen, etc.

It's really easy as long as you have two inputs on your computer or a docking station with multiple inputs. All you have to do is plug them up and change your desktop display settings. I could describe it, but you'd be better off Googling it so you can see images. I've got my laptop screen and two other monitors at work.

Programmer, it is much nicer having my code on one screen and webpages I am working on on the other. Of course that means one of my monitors is in vertical orientation. Otherwise I also four instances of file explorer helps when organizing multiple drives with each on half a screen.
