RAM doesn't work like HDD/storage space.

Make sure your drivers are all current, sometimes they chew up RAM like mad when they’re not.

ctrl-shift-escape -> sort by Memory -> Kill non-essential processes like web browser/social media apps/other game launchers.

For me, firefox alone uses 2-3GB of memory; using multiple windows with dozens of tabs.
