I had an incredibly hard event happen last week, and I am trying to do things again. I am trying to start small with just picking up a new game. I know that it is kind of stupid, but I figure trying out something small and new might help. No guns or violence in the games please

If you have Xbox gamepass I just played a game called Donut County. You play as a hole in the ground in a cartoony style world and you eat things and gradually get bigger. Super easy gameplay, silly and lighthearted game.
Also, Power Wash Simulator. Exactly what it sounds like. I find it great when my anxiety is up. No time limits, no stress, just wash away dirt.
Hope you start to feel better soon.

Stardew valley with my wife really helped me through the death of a close family member. Such a good game to get your mind off everything.

I came to say this. This game is a good game with very little violence. If you can get past the start having to say goodbye to your other kitty friends. ^.^

Might be a completely left field choice, but for me I'd recommend tales of the Borderlands. The best Telltale game in my opinion and those last 2 episodes were absolute masterpieces. Simple gameplay, and a really engaging story with characters that you actually care about.
Hope you get well soon man.

Powerwash simulator is a good satisfying game with easy mechanics and a passive amusing plot. It's my go to game when I'm feeling depressed so, it might help you.
Also Stardew Valley, if you want something more immersive with bits and bobs to do. There is combat in the mines but its fantastical creatures and very much pokemon or Zelda levels of violence and you can mostly avoid the mines if you want to.

Seconding stardew. That game just has an amazing way of making the stresses of the real world fade away for a while. It's so peaceful and relaxing

Hardspace ship breaker is my go to when I just want to relax but I want to puzzle solve a little.
You’re a shipbreaker in space with a laser. Dismantle spaceships. Deposit pieces. Don’t fry the reactor.
Also it makes satisfying sounds when you deposit ship pieces
Lastly, I’m sorry what happened to you happened. I hope you get through it :)

Came to say this. It's one of the kindest, softest games I've played and even if scary at times, it is so relaxing and warm to play.
