Any of the Lego series games, they're all easy to pick up and play.

as someone who came across those games well below the age requirement, they're definitely play-able. But also 100% inappropirate, Dead Space gave me nightmares

I got my kid a Switch at around that age. Lego City Undercover is one he keeps coming back to. Maybe Sonic Mania, and A Hat in Time is pretty good. Kinda like an old 3d Mario or Banjo Kazooie.

Minecraft is great for almost any age as well.

Terraria, Risk of Rain 2, Hades.

Honestly I don't know many rated E games that aren't already listed, but if he's good with a bit of difficulty then those last 2 should be alright for him.

Also, depending on the sort of shows and movies you let him watch, God of War can be alright with proper supervision

EDIT: OH! Stardew Valley and Harvest Moon are great ones!
