"Updates" implies minor changes like QoL tweaks and bug fixes. A little more substantial than patches.

Whole new game modes and characters and storylines are DLC.

Even if it were just QOL improvements that’s still a win.

Any dev/company doing free DLC has respect in my book. It’s almost a guarantee for me to get their next game.
