The difference is mostly the exclusive games for each platform. If you want TLoU/Uncharted/Spider-man go with PS, if you want Starfield/Halo go with XB

These consoles are for your living room/bedroom and are not portable like the Switch, you will need a tv, monitor or projector.

I recommend watching the online store sales for whichever you choose PS or XB, as a new adopter you are prime to grab plenty of bargains.
