They have to be duds.

I have a bunch of headphones for various uses and can happily switch through them. They all sound pretty different (eg my Audeze Penrose I just sold sound nothing like the Novas) and I like the change. I work on many different soundsystems at lots of music venues and have for over 25y- so I'm pretty confident I know the difference between different & shite.

Yeah in that case a dud. Maybe miss wired from the factory or driver is separating or something.
