I think a big problem of theirs is the open back design.
I have a feeling it was for safety or convenience (for the flight attendants). Whenever I would push them back into my ears the frequency response drastically changed for the better (but obviously still not great.
I wish whoever measured them would measure again with the ports covered just for kicks.
I watch one movie with them before switching to the ier-z1r (not provided by Delta).
These Delta in ears are just insane. Super resonant. Nasty mids only. You can barely hear dialog because the frequency response emphasizes so much else.

I used some sticky tack to cover the holes and then used duct tape over it, I switched the ear tips to a pair of the stock tips from my Shuoer 12, and then I ripped the cotton off of a que tip and put that inside the tips. That seemed to help a lot. If there was a way to open them up without breaking them and filling the empty shell with something to dampen the resonance, it would be an interesting experiment. I may try to do that. What I did seemed to help a lot with the sound to make it much more tolerable. I just want some more treble and I wanna do it without EQ. I think I'm gonna keep messing with them for fun. Maybe a detachable cable mod?????? The possibilities are endless.
I do wanna get one of those knockoff IEC-711 measurement rigs so I can do my own measurements for fun.
