I have been googling for a while but I have one of two outcomes to my searches;1 It is a plasticy piece of trash that costs 5 bucks.

2 It is 3000 usd.I couldn't find something decent in between I am still looking but I decided to give reddit a shot because I saw a topic like this in this subreddit I have been looking through the recommendations but they are almost all sold out.

I am so sorry about rule 2 I completely missed it. Does this post fit in r/HeadphoneAdvice like the shopping and setup help desk said?

A phone with a jack, and the headphone cable could have physical control buttons. I have this combo and it's the best. The buttons on the headphone cable are easy to access.

I've got a sony Xperia 5 II (has a sd slot), and a pair of fiio fh5, and a pair of bullets from the one plus 3. They do their job.

There's mmcx or 2pin cables that have control buttons and a microphone too.

I've got an app for music, one for podcasts. The podcast one can resume any audio from the last played position.

I mean, that's a low bar.

How about your phone?

If you don't have a headphone jack on yours, the Apple 3.5mm to usb C dongle is cheap and very good.

Otherwise what you're looking for is generally called a "DAP", which just means digital audio player. They basically all should have the features you're looking for.

A Xudoo X2S for example does the trick just fine and costs little money.

This submission has automatically been removed due to the following rule:

>Rule 2: Ask purchase and shopping questions in the Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk > > Requests for product opinions, comparisons, and general purchase advice must be made in the dedicated Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk instead of a new post.

Portable audio related purchase advice may also be asked in r/HeadphoneAdvice but please familiarize yourself with their rules first.

What questions are considered purchase advice?

  • A request for product suggestions, comparison requests, or opinion requests fall under the purchase advice rule. These can often be found by searching first.

  • Any suggestion or comparison request pertaining to headphones, IEMs, DACs, amps, or other accessories should be directed to the purchase help thread or r/headphoneadvice.

  • Asking the subreddit to help make a decision to buy a product does fall under this rule (e.g. "should I get dekoni pads for my HD650?").

Why does this rule even exist?

I'm certain that my post wasn’t asking for product opinions or purchase advice!
